Behavior Policy

The Library System, under Title 65, Article 4, Section 105 of the Oklahoma Statutes, has adopted these rules and regulations for the safety and convenience of the Public and staff

THE FOLLOWING IS PROHIBITED WITHIN ANY SEPLSO LIBRARY

Excessive Noise, including cell phone conversations clearly audible to persons nearby
Smoking, except in designated areas
Running, jumping, or skating
loitering or soliciting
Sleeping
Disturbing or interfering with other persons or library staff
Animals, except guide dogs of other service animals
Having or consuming food or drink, except in designated areas
Not wearing a shirt or otherwise not wearing appropriate covering on the body
Leaving children under age 10 unaccompanied by a responsible caregiver for more that 1 hour
Abusive, obscene or threatening language
Publix intoxication Possessing alcohol or drugs
Carrying a concealed weapon
Causing actual or imminent damage to library materials, equipment, or property Loitering in or using restrooms for anything other tan normal toilet and lavatory activities
Any behavior violating the law

Violators may be asked to leave the library. Failure to comply with a request to leave the premises will result in the filing of trespassing charges against the offender. repeated or exceptionally serious violations may cause the offender to be barred from future use of the library.

The above portion of this policy shall be clearly posted in each library.

If a person told to leave by a staff member refuses, or in the event of behavior violating the law, staff are expected to promptly request assistance from their local law enforcement agency.

If a Staff member bars a repeat violator or person whose violation was of and exceptionally serious nature from future use of the library, the action is subject to investigation and ratification at the earliest convenient times by the head librarian and the executive Director, who will see that the action is presented to the SEPLSO Board, which has the final authority to act in the matter
